GRRR! I just wrote a long story about my weekend and pressed post. Too much time had elapsed since I got on so it made me log back in, after I did, my story was GONE! Now I have to write it all over again. Trust me when I say this won't be as good as the first time.
It was Friday, June 18, 2010: Courtney and I rushed to the store to pick up ketchup and mayo to make some fry sauce. On the way she told me a funny story. Courtney went with her boyfriend to get his car key copied. While there she decided to copy her key as well. She went to give the man her key when he asked "Does your key have a chip in it?" Courtney examined her key and replied, "no I don't think so." She then handed her key to the man to get a copy. He took her key and went to make a copy. Upon returning he handed her the key back and said, "This key does have a chip in it, so I can't copy it." "It has a chip in it?" Courtney asked. "That's right," he said. "Where?" she replied "It is under the rubber." While holding up the key Courtney with confusion asked, "So my key has a chip -- under the rubber, and because of that, you can't copy it?" "Exactly," he replied. "Whatever." Courtney wasn't going to argue with him so she just went home and explained the whole thing to her dad.
A couple month's had gone by when her boyfriend's dad started looking at Courtney's keys, "You have a chip in this one." he said. Courtney grabbed the keys out of his hand and with frustration said, "Why can everyone, but ME, see this chip?" I am sure at this point her boyfriends dad was dying of laughter inside. "Courtney, it is a computer chip."
Courtney had spent the last couple months being really careful not to break off her "chipped" key in the ignition. She had that happen before and didn't want it to happen again. *LOL*
That was a great start to a fun girl's night. Courtney and I retured to the condo to enjoy a night of funny stories, junk food, watching movies, and just being with family. 3 of my sisters (LauraLee, Karyn, and Donna (technically Donna is my sister-in-law)) and 3 of my nieces (Courtney, Stephanie, and Chelsea) were there with me. We had so much fun and it was nice not having to worry about any kids. (Thanks to all of our husbands for taking care of our children so we could get this night away)
The next day I got to take 2 of my girls (Jessica and Alyssa) to a party. My niece (Mary) she turned 5, and her parents threw her a fun princess party. Where all the kids were supposed to come in a beautiful princess dress. Mary's mom and dad (Nancy and Karl) dressed up as Snow White and a prince. Karl crowned all of the little girls and danced with them. It was adorable. We had a delicious lunch and then the kids played some fun games. They played musical chairs. (it was fun to watch 20+ kids, most of whom were ages 2-6, play that...the kids cried when they got out so they started letting everyone chose a candy and that made it all better) They also played a princess version of "Duck, Duck, Goose" called "Princess, Princess, Frog." There was a pinata and a beautiful castle cake. It was so much fun!
To top the weekend off, all my brothers and sisters and their families were invited to my dad's house for Father's Day. We had a BBQ and just enjoyed visiting with each other and being with family. :)
