Great Weekend!

GRRR! I just wrote a long story about my weekend and pressed post. Too much time had elapsed since I got on so it made me log back in, after I did, my story was GONE! Now I have to write it all over again. Trust me when I say this won't be as good as the first time.

It was Friday, June 18, 2010: Courtney and I rushed to the store to pick up ketchup and mayo to make some fry sauce. On the way she told me a funny story. Courtney went with her boyfriend to get his car key copied. While there she decided to copy her key as well. She went to give the man her key when he asked "Does your key have a chip in it?" Courtney examined her key and replied, "no I don't think so." She then handed her key to the man to get a copy. He took her key and went to make a copy. Upon returning he handed her the key back and said, "This key does have a chip in it, so I can't copy it." "It has a chip in it?" Courtney asked. "That's right," he said. "Where?" she replied "It is under the rubber." While holding up the key Courtney with confusion asked, "So my key has a chip -- under the rubber, and because of that, you can't copy it?" "Exactly," he replied. "Whatever." Courtney wasn't going to argue with him so she just went home and explained the whole thing to her dad.

A couple month's had gone by when her boyfriend's dad started looking at Courtney's keys, "You have a chip in this one." he said. Courtney grabbed the keys out of his hand and with frustration said, "Why can everyone, but ME, see this chip?" I am sure at this point her boyfriends dad was dying of laughter inside. "Courtney, it is a computer chip."

Courtney had spent the last couple months being really careful not to break off her "chipped" key in the ignition. She had that happen before and didn't want it to happen again. *LOL*

That was a great start to a fun girl's night. Courtney and I retured to the condo to enjoy a night of funny stories, junk food, watching movies, and just being with family. 3 of my sisters (LauraLee, Karyn, and Donna (technically Donna is my sister-in-law)) and 3 of my nieces (Courtney, Stephanie, and Chelsea) were there with me. We had so much fun and it was nice not having to worry about any kids. (Thanks to all of our husbands for taking care of our children so we could get this night away)

The next day I got to take 2 of my girls (Jessica and Alyssa) to a party. My niece (Mary) she turned 5, and her parents threw her a fun princess party. Where all the kids were supposed to come in a beautiful princess dress. Mary's mom and dad (Nancy and Karl) dressed up as Snow White and a prince. Karl crowned all of the little girls and danced with them. It was adorable. We had a delicious lunch and then the kids played some fun games. They played musical chairs. (it was fun to watch 20+ kids, most of whom were ages 2-6, play that...the kids cried when they got out so they started letting everyone chose a candy and that made it all better) They also played a princess version of "Duck, Duck, Goose" called "Princess, Princess, Frog." There was a pinata and a beautiful castle cake. It was so much fun!

To top the weekend off, all my brothers and sisters and their families were invited to my dad's house for Father's Day. We had a BBQ and just enjoyed visiting with each other and being with family. :)

Here is my second page for my Alphabet Book. I did "B is for Bubble, butterflies, beautiful, and babies." I did a picture of my oldest daughter in a giant bubble and then I added pictures of all of my kids as babies.
The page is made with elements from a few different kits. The journaling letter B on the right side is from the Alphabet kit at Browniescraps.com. The red edge and the button are from a kit at justsoscrappy.blogspot.com. The paper is from scrapbookflair.com. I have no idea where I got all of those cute butterflies....and the lettering is from My Memories Suite fonts.

This is the first page in my digital alphabet book. I did "A is for Alyssa." I am so excited to get this book finished but I take forever to do each page because it has to be absolutely perfect...and since perfect is impossible it takes me a long time to do ;)
I used the Alphabet kit at browniescraps.com for this page

Getting Lazy ALREADY!

Wow I started this blog with such enthusiasm...I posted one post and then BAM...I didn't even get back to it for 5 whole days. What can I say...I'm lazy :)

My daughter, Jessica, makes me laugh. She says the darndest things and I love her imagination. I never know who she is at any given moment. She pretends to be anyone from Cinderella to her friend next door. One day Trent came home from work and asked Jessica a question and she responded "Dad I am Ariel and I have legs...so I can't talk." She didn't really say anything for the next 2 hours when she finally told us that she wasn't Ariel anymore. I think she gave up on playing "Ariel with legs" because we played along and kept reminding her that she couldn't talk. It was a nice couple of hours.

All About ME!

I just wanted to introduce myself so that you could get to know me a little bit. My name is Diantha (Dideedoo is what my mom called me growing up) I am a mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. I have three beautiful little girls...Jessica who is 3, Alyssa is 1 and Mckinna is 3 months old. I have been married to a wonderful man (Trent) for just over 6 years.

I love being a mommy, digital scrapbooking, painting, swimming and camping. One day I would love to write a book, learn how to play the piano, skydive, get organized, and fix my husband's eating habits...he will eat anything....as long as its pizza, pasta, or junk food.

I hope that through this blog I am able to post my daily struggles and daily joys. I hope to be able to help people focus on the possitives in their lives. I have realized that so many people have a hard time forgiving others. People lose out on so much when they are unwilling to just let things go. Being offended is a choice and when someone hurts you, you can take offense or you can just let it go...it is that easy. I am not talking about the large offenses that people do, including but not limited to, adultry, murder etc...I am talking about small offenses like forgetting an anniversary, birthday or being called a bad name. You would be amazed what people allow ruin their lives.

As you read my posts you will quickly realize a few things. I am terrible with puctuation...I have no idea when I should use a common or a colon....so I just put a lot of periods :) I am quick to get off subject if something else pops into my mind. After having 3 kids in just over 3 year I have found that my memory has pretty much disappeared. I ramble a lot and most the time it is about nothing.

I am excited to get to know a lot of other moms out there. Please send me your funny mom moments or your mommy struggles and I would love to post them. I am hoping to teach a few things and learn a lot more along the way. Until next time just keep smiling and write the things down that make you scream so you can smile about them tomorrow.
